The first ever Desi/Hindi Music Festival of Europe is a fact!

On Saturday the 19th of August, 2023 we created an unforgettable celebration of Desi Music & Culture at Zuiderpark – The Hague, The Netherlands!

General info

MirchiFest is the 1st first Desi/Hindi Festival in Europe, which is a vibrant celebration of Desi- and Bollywood music & culture.

 

MirchiFest offers a unique opportunity to experience the rich traditions, music, food, and art of the Desi culture.

 

At MirchiFest we offers a wide range of activities for everyone above 18 years old. This includes live performances by local- and international top performing Desi artists, traditional- & urban Desi dance performances, interactive workshops and a traditional cuisine.

In addition to the cultural offerings, MirchiFest features a wide range of food vendors serving up delicious cuisine from across the Indian subcontinent, as well as a marketplace featuring vendors selling traditional clothing, jewelry, and other handicrafts.

 

MirchiFest is committed to promoting inclusivity and celebrating the diversity of the South Asian community. The festival aims to create a safe and welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to come together and experience the vibrant culture of Hindi and Desi communities.

Parking info

There are several parking options available near the festival ground:

Public parking lots

There are several public parking lots located within walking distance of the festival grounds.

– Parking Leyweg 1: Leyweg 791 – Den Haag

– Leyweg 2: Hengelolaan 170 Z – Den Haag 

– Zuiderpark Parking: Mr. P. Droogleever Fortuynweg 99 – Den Haag

Please note that these lots may fill up quickly, so arrive early to ensure a spot.

Street parking

There is limited street parking available near the festival grounds. Be sure to check parking signs and regulations to avoid any tickets or towing.

Public transportation
Consider taking public transportation to the festival to avoid the hassle of parking. The nearest tram and bus stops are just a short walk from the festival grounds. Zuiderpark can be reached by:

– Tram 9 and 16 (stop Zuiderpark/Melis Stokelaan)
– Bus 23 (stop Loevesteinlaan)
– Bus 25 & 26 (stop Vreeswijkstraat)

Rules

To ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience at MirchiFest, we kindly ask that all attendees adhere to the following rules:

  1. No outside food or drinks will be allowed on festival grounds.
  2. Respect the performers, volunteers, and other attendees. Any form of harassment or discrimination will not be tolerated.
  3. No weapons or illegal substances are allowed on festival grounds.
  4. Parents or guardians are responsible for the safety and behavior of their children.
  5. Festival organizers reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any attendees who violate these rules or pose a safety risk to themselves or others.
  6. Festival is for everyone, so keep it friendly. Aggressiveness and racism will not be tolerated.
  7. Upon entry, everyone is inspected. Access is only granted after inspection.
  8. The organization has the right to refuse/deny your entry without the right to a refund of the entrance tickets.
  9. Bringing your own consumption is not allowed.
  10. Smoking is prohibited in all shelters and tents.
  11. Follow directions from staff, security, and emergency services.
  12. It is prohibited to carry out commercial activities on and around the festival site.
  13. The use and sale of nitrous oxide, nitrous oxide (N2O), is not permitted on and in the immediate vicinity of the festival site and will be confiscated.
  14. Weapons and sharp or dangerous objects are prohibited! All items that can be used as weapons will be confiscated.
  15. There is a ban on any form of group expression.
  16. Bringing professional photo/film/video/audio equipment is not allowed. Ordinary digital cameras and telephones are allowed.
  17. Visitors are not allowed to walk around the site without a shirt/bare-chested.
  18. Portrait rights apply during the festival. This means that during Festival, filming and photography will take place, and sound recordings can also take place. These images and/or sound recordings can be used by the organization as advertising or publication material.
  19. Visiting the festival is entirely at your own risk.
  20. When leaving the festival site, re-entry on the same day is no longer possible without a valid admission ticket.
  21. The organization reserves the right to deny anyone access to the festival at any time.
  22. The organization reserves the right to change the festival policy at any time.
  23. Animals are not allowed on the festival site.
  24. The organization reserves the right to change the date, times, program and/or location of the festival.
  25. The organization is not responsible for damage to visitors' belongings.
  26. Visitors who misbehave in any way in and around the festival site will be immediately removed from the festival site.
  27. The organization can implement additional safety measures. These must be followed at all times.
  28. Festival has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy. When prohibited substances (hard and soft drugs) are found with a visitor, the substance is recovered by security and access to the site is denied. This also applies to quantities that fall within the rejection policy. A visitor with too many drugs in his or her possession is handed over to the police/justice.
  29. During the festival, it is not allowed to have unmanned aircraft (drones) on the festival site.
  30. Fireworks are prohibited!
